Residency Status When Using Faculty/Staff Tuition Waiver
A new employee of The University of North Carolina System who has not yet lived in North Carolina for 12 months, may apply for in-state tuition rates for their self, their spouse or dependent child under certain conditions:
- The individual is a full-time employee, in a permanent position, of The University of North Carolina System.
- They are a legal resident of North Carolina.
- They must have established North Carolina legal residence prior to the first day of the term for which the benefit is sought.
