Faculty/Staff Tuition Waiver Instructions – NEW PROCESS EFFECTIVE SUMMER I 2023

Please read the following carefully and follow the instructions that fit your employment situation.

NC State Employee taking classes at NC State

  1. Log into the MYPack Portal and navigate to Employee Self Service, Benefit Details tile, Employee Tuition Waiver Form (left menu, towards the bottom of the list) .
  2. Select the term and add a waiver.
  3. Enter waiver information and electronically sign the form.
  4. Employment verification will be performed automatically and if accepted, the form will route to your supervisor for signature.
  5. Supervisor electronically signs waiver.
  6. UCO approves waiver and charges are credited on your account.

NC State Employee taking classes at other UNC Institution

  1. Log into the MYPack Portal and navigate to Employee Self Service, Benefit Details tile, Employee Tuition Waiver Form (left menu, towards the bottom of the list) .
  2. Select the term and add a waiver.
  3. Enter waiver information and electronically sign the form.
  4. Employment verification will be performed automatically and if accepted, the form will route to your supervisor for signature.
  5. Supervisor electronically signs waiver.
  6. UCO approves waiver.
  7. PRINT your waiver and send it to the school where you are taking classes.

Non-NC State Employee taking classes at NC State

  1. Log into the MyPack Portal and navigate to Student Home Page, Student Accounts Tile, Employee Tuition Waiver Form (left menu, towards the bottom of the list).  
  2. Select the term and add a waiver.
  3. Enter waiver information and electronically sign the form – this notifies us of your intent to use a waiver at NC State.
  4. Submit your signed paper waiver from your employing institution to tuitionwaivers@ncsu.edu.  You must complete BOTH steps for your waiver to process correctly.
  5. When we receive your signed paper waiver AND have your online notification, we will credit your student account.
